Creating Realistic Wires using Adobe Photoshop

Wrapped wires

Wire final

First thing you need to do is open up Photoshop and create a new image.

New menu

Create new image

Note the resolution. I use a higher resolution in this case. It helps to make the wires come out much more crisper.

Once you have made your new image the first thing you want to do is stretch out your canvas so you have room to work with the pen tool. You'll see why its easier in a bit. So place that mouse cursor on the edge of the canvas, hold down the button, and drag out the canvas in both directions. You should have an image that looks something like this now:

Stretched out canvas

The next thing you want to do is create a new layer in your image.

Create new layer

Then select the pen tool from your toolbar. ( Select the top one that just says "Pen Tool" )

Pen selection menu
