Northern
Light went online in the fall of 1997.
Northern Light uses its web crawling robot, Gulliver, and has built
one of the largest web directories on the Internet today.
Unfortunately, Northern Light has
failed to produce any sort of major traffic for webmasters, as the
site is generally ignored by people when using search engines.
One of the reasons that no one
seems to use Northern Light, as it doesn't seem to have a very good
ranking algorithm. It ranks by frequency of the keywords in the
text of the page, and NOT by META tag information. Northern Light
will also take into account link
popularity. Trying to find anymore information around the Internet
about Northern Lights algorithm is difficult, as no one really talks
about it anymore.
